About Us (in case you got here by accident!) |
- We do not sell products to the general public. Once or twice a year we organise a fundraiser and this website allows our friends to participate by buying products for charity.
- We make "hobby-style" hot sauces, jams and jellies, in limited quantities. Our products are generally MUCH HOTTER than typical sauces or jams... be very careful at first.
- We grow our own super-hot peppers in Ottawa, Ontario, and we do not use any pesticides or weird stuff.
- The "heat level" varies year to year, depending which peppers did better. We provide a 1-10 rating of the heat level each year. But that is totally non-scientific and may be off.
- Our recipes only use natural preservatives like vinegar. Keep them refrigerated to make them last longer!

Ordering and Shipping |
Send an email with your order to "elohim @ sympatico.ca" -- and make sure you mention who you are haha!
Once we confirm that we have what you asked for, you'll need to send an e-transfer. Then you can either pick it up from our house, or I can drop them in the fridge at Hunt Club (if someone lets me in).
For large orders, I can deliver if you don't live too far! |

Meet the nerds |
It all started in 2009 when Jirah and Carl (me) tried to find a way to make use of a lot of home-grown super-hot peppers in Carl's garden (an experiment gone wild). We decided to make some colourful, interesting, wicked hot sauces.
We're both software people working at a large hospital, so ya we had day jobs. I recruited my two teenage boys because they weren't doing much (just kidding boys). Actually they seem to like it as you can see in the pics.
Disclaimer: one of them (Paul) isn't a nerd, so sometimes he rolls his eyes at us haha.
You'll also see in the pics that that over the years, many of their friends and a lot of other people pinched in with the sauce-making!
A few years later, Jirah started making some jams and jellies from home. Then Mo, another nerd from work, started making some jams too to help with the fundraising.
Since 2010, Pepper Day is an annual event in my office. With my recent retirement and COVID, 2020 is a little weird...
But we're still doing it and having fun!

Why does this website look so old school? |
Aaah -- good eye my young fellow. So last time I built a website (as a hobby) was 20 years ago. Text-edited HTML, CSS and Javascript (some of it borrowed of course). I hope to get a proper "store" up for next year!
